•    The meeting was called to order at 6:35 pm.
•    Mary opened and welcomed returning new members Lisa & Josie, and a guest of Jacki’s, Dorothy.
•    Membership questionnaires are requested to be turned in, or you may log into the website and fill it out on-line.
•    A Belated Happy Birthday to Fran was wished
•    Barbara read the minutes from June, they were passed as written.
•    Fran gave the treasurer report
o    rent of $385 for the year has been paid
o    there are currently 23 paid members as of 7/7/08
o    the budget was accepted as proposed with a $100 addition for new member incentives

•    Francine gave the altruistic report
o    in August the Altruistic program for the new year will be reveled
o    there were 754 caps collected for the Cap Challenge for Stitches of Love there were 15 Knitting Guild members participating and 500 caps came from the “Mesa / Temp 4” knitters that were recruited by June & Virginia
o    there was a 1 point difference between June & Velvet, so both will be gifted with a $50 gift card to the Capital Grill

•    Bev Walker gave a “New around Town” report regarding events & knitting news around town
o    the Fiber Factory will be having a “Monsoon Madness” discount of 10% the day after it rains
o    Tempe Yarn and Fiber will have Stitch n Pitch tickets on sale for $15 for the game and an additional $20 will get you a reserved seat on their chartered bus.  They will be having a new mystery knit project in the form of a blanket.  The blanket will measure 36x56 and the cost is estimated between $60 - $110.  Pre orders start August 1st.
o    A new knitting store Knit Happens will open on July, 25th, Cara will be one of the featured teachers there.
o    Scottsdale Museum of Art will be having a display called Radical Lace and Subversive Knitting from October thru December
o    Bev is planning a Shop Hop in November, there will be passports issued, it will take place over a two week period, and more detail will be forth coming
o    Tucson Fashion Show will be on January 17, 2009, the tickets will be $40 to attend.

•    Cara shared the proof of the rack and business cards.  She will be sending out an e-mail with more details and asking for suggestions for the backside of the rack card
•    Regina passed out a letter that she had received from Cottage Creations asking for a collection of knitted items to be sent to the flood victims in Iowa
•    The evening program commenced with a show and share from the participants of  the Mystery Knit bag.
•    The meeting concluded with a general show and share of projects from around the room.
