The meeting was called to order by Dawn Goetz, President at 6:30 p.m.
MEMBERSHIP: No new members or visitors in attendance tonight.
SECRETARY’S REPORT: No changes or corrections were made for the April 2013 meeting minutes. Lesley Fry made a motion to pass and Harriet Lawrence seconded.
Altruistic reports: Harriet reported on the Red Scarf Project and the last meeting to drop off scarves will be November 2013. Dawn passed around information on the Ground Cover project as was discussed at a previous meeting ( see minutes from March 2013). There are 12-13 blankets still available (10 x 10 is the required size) and are due by Tuesday, October 1, 2013.
Treasurer’s report: Cynthia Peplinski was not present and the current balance is $4.410.93. A refund will be made to the AZ Centennial organization for the framing of the blanket.
Strategic Planning report: Nothing to report at this time.
Centennial Blanket: Francine Ebersman presently has the blanket.
Stitch n Pitch: Not many attended this year. It was suggested that it should be more publicized. Kristen Leetz from the AZ Diamondbacks is looking to have another one this season.
Knit Together: May and June are open for gatherings. On July 13th, Joanna and Pat will host a knit together from 1:00 – 4:00. More details to follow.
There will be a Knitathon on Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 10:00 -5:00 at Mountain View Lutheran Church benefitting Wounded Warrior Program. Dawn dispensed information regarding this event.
NEW BUSINESS: Lesley Fry announced that Regina Esposito is currently a patient at John C Lincoln North Mountain in Room 412 – at this time she cannot accept visitors, and flowers and cards would be much appreciated.
PROGRAM: Martie introduced this month’s program of Crochet Edgings. Three different types were demonstrated. The handout can be found on the guild website for those who missed this program.
She also made a suggestion for a future program to include members that “summer” outside of AZ. – having a Mystery Knitalong. Likely will use a pattern from Ravelry.
SHOW AND SHARE: Members shared their current projects as well as completed ones.
