COMMITTEE/CHAIR REPORTS:
Altruistic reports:   Velvet Dishon dispensed left over yarn from the Special Olympics scarf project to be made into a blanket for Project Linus. Please return the finished pieces at the January 2013 meeting. She is also accepting knitted donations for the Navajo project and Veteran’s scarves. June Whisel will be taking the Navajo project donations to Tucson and she will deliver the Veteran’s scarves to the Veteran’s Hospital in Phoenix. She mentioned again about the SWTC sale on 10/5 and 10/6 from 7:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Treasurer’s report: Cynthia Peplinski was absent from this month’s meeting. Please confirm with Cynthia if you have paid your 2012/2013 dues.
OLD BUSINESS:
Centennial Blanket: Joanne Mullen reported – she is taking suggestions to find a permanent home for the blanket. Some suggestions made were the Phoenix Public Library (Burton Barr branch), Phoenix Art Museum, and Arizona Historical Society. Please e-mail Joanne with any additional suggestions. Note cards with a photo of the blanket are still being considered. There is a budget for the framing of the blanket. Francine Ebersman currently has the blanket.
Jackie Awerman: It was discussed about a Distinguished Service Award for Jackie. A process will begin for the nomination and it must be written with specific criteria. Regina Esposito will contact Jackie about putting the link for monetary donations for her medical costs on the guild’s website.

Knit Together: Cynthia Peplinski will have one October 2012. Harriet Lawrence in November 2012, Francine Ebersman and Joanne Mullen in January 2013 and Martie Warden in February 2013.

Holiday Party: Donna Sherrill and Lonnie Zbiegien met with Francine to help plan the holiday party. Francine dispensed invitations and information about the holiday party. It will be at Romano’s Macaroni Grill on Monday, December 3, 2012 with doors opening at 5:30, 6:00 dinner. Optional gift exchange will be offered with a knitting related item for up to $15.00. Information about the party will be located on the guild website and in the monthly newsletter. Project Linus blankets will be collected at the party as well. There will be a mitten/glove/fingerless gloves contest for the party – items will be donated to the Navajo project. Donna dispensed information about knitting pattern websites for mittens. Regina offered a suggestion of having a contest where photos of guild members were displayed and guests were to guess who the members are in the photos.

NEW BUSINESS:   Dawn mentioned that Tempe Yarn and Fiber were having local artists and guilds represented on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the store from 12:00 -5:00. Dawn asked for anyone who would like to volunteer to man the table during that time.

PROGRAM:   Martie introduced this evening’s program of CNKG Memories. The members discussed joining the guild and what their involvement has meant to them. Cake was offered this evening to celebrate the guild’s 18th birthday.
SHOW AND SHARE: Members shared their current projects as well as completed ones.
Meeting adjourned at 8:12 p.m.
