Altruistic reports: Velvet Dishon was not present and Janine May accepted the blanket strip donations in her absence. No further instructions regarding altruistic projects given, just to continue knitting the blanket strips. Judie Agee’s husband, “Mr. Yarn” learned that two Scottsdale Wal-Mart stores are selling out their yarn inventory at deep discounts. There will be a Project Linus Blanket Bee on 9/1/12 and a yarn lottery will also be held.
Treasurer’s report: Cynthia Peplinski stated that current balance is $3,438.00 and continuing to accept membership dues for 2012/2013.
Centennial Blanket: The blanket and guild were featured in the August –October 2012 issue of Cast On Magazine from TKGA. Harriet Lawrence was thanked for her assistance in sending the information to TKGA. Darlene Ong will be taking the blanket to Greer AZ to exhibit. Fran Frazin recently had the blanket in Pine AZ. The blanket was also exhibited at Stitch n Pitch.
Stitch n Pitch: Recently held at Chase Field on 7/28/12. Many people stopped by the CNKG booth – 38 people signed up for information to be e-mailed to them regarding the guild. Francine Ebersman mentioned that a meeting will be scheduled with the Diamondback organization for next year’s Stitch n Pitch. And the organization would like the blanket to be brought back again, because they were unable to get it on the Jumbotron at this year’s game.
