Marsha French had a “Xmas” stocking that she gave to June to send to the Veterans.  (June finished that stocking.

Old Business

Barb Hahn will be hosting the February knit-together on Sunday 2/19. A note will come out shortly with the exact time.

Knit together at Fry’s Marketplace, Tatum & Shea was a great success.  Ten to 12 members attended the last one.  This is held the 3rd Monday of the month from 6-8:30 PM next one will be Presidents Day 2/20.  Look for the Guild in the right corner near Starbucks.

New Business:  No new business discussed

Program – Centennial Blanket

Francine spoke about how the idea of this blanket started via an idea from one of our former members Mary Ann Redeker.

Liz Rees spoke about what ideas went into making the blanket with help from Georgia Green who suggested book Art for Life that discussed Petroglyphs, Sun, Plants and Hand symbols.  Blanked bordered in a basket weave knit that represents pine woven baskets. The blanket was put together by Liz who then knitted the border.

Jo-Ann Mullen spoke about the funding for the blanket, obtaining the authorization of becoming an official centennial project. The funding CNKG has obtained is $1,300.  Much of that money will go for the permanent casing for the blanket.

February 14, 2014 is the Anniversary of Statehood for Arizona.  CNKG will participate with others on the lawn at the State Capitol to display the blanket.  Carol & Harriet will have the early time (9am to 12PM), Georgia & Regina will be there from Noon to about 3 PM.  Table & Chairs will be provided.  Table will be about 6’x3; (the blanket is 58”x68”)

Marsha French moved to thank everyone involved with the Blanket Liz as the designer, naming all involved, Francine, Jo-Ann, Cathrine etc.  Lesley Fry 2nd, Motion Passed.
