Treasurer’s Report – Lisa Spaich: Lisa reported that from now on the Treasurer’s Report will be posted on the website.
Altruistic –Cathrine McClure: We are still collecting for Japan. Articles can be given to Dawn. Project Linus needs large blankets. Items can be given to Jennifer who will deliver them to Natalie. There is another blanket bee in Fountain Hills this Saturday, June 11.
Special Olympics scarves will be part of the budget for this next fiscal year. There will be a link on the CNKG website or you can go to the Red Heart yarn website. The deadline for completed scarves will be the January meeting. Whatever we collect goes to the Arizona winter games.
Hats and scarves are needed for flood victims. June sent a box to Jackie Awerman which went to the Jewish Federation of Birmingham. June read a thank you note from the Federation.
Cathrine mentioned that the United Methodist Church is looking for knitters on June 16 to demonstrate knitting at their Vacation Bible School from 10am to 2pm. If you’re interested, contact Cathrine.
Host your own knitting event -- Harriet was originally planning to host a June knitting event, but she will be traveling. She will host one in July. If anyone wants to host one in June, please let Barb know.
Monthly Knit-togethers: Harriet is going to Knit Happens this Thursday evening to knit. Several people are planning to join her. We will see if that is a good venue for scheduled monthly knit-togethers.
Barb is looking for someone to serve next year as the Communications Coordinator. This involves distributing communication e-mails and maintaining the calendar. It does not involve much time. Please let her know if you are interested.
Cara is in possession of a high-speed scanner and has been going through all of the historical boxes of CNKG information that has been gathered throughout the years. She plans to put all pertinent history on the website.
Dues are due this month for the next fiscal year. Only $24!
Program –– Liz Rees
Liz continued with the second half of her program from last month. Using the second chart that she passed out last month, Liz gave us instructions on how to do Fair Isle knitting.
Note for Next Meeting
Dawn requested that we bring in our oldest unfinished project for our next meeting. She also asked if someone would like to do a program on basic crochet at a later meeting. Sandy suggested that we have a program on felting. If you have any ideas for programs or want to present one yourself, please let Dawn know.
Show and Share followed the meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:05pm.
