 Committee/Chair Reports

 Altruistic

Velvet reported that the membership knit 78 scarves for veterans, and it took four flat rate mailing boxes to send them all.  Great job everyone!

She reminded everyone to keep knitting blankets and squares for the holiday party.  There will be a new altruistic project announced at the January meeting.

Valley Events

Betty told the membership about sales, specials, and happenings at various local yarn shops.  Phoenix Knits invites everyone to stop by.  Knitting in Scottsdale is having a sale on all yarn.  Tempe Yarn and Fiber currently has a Holiday Mystery Knit-Along going, they also host a charity knit night on Mondays.  In January, Joan Schrouder, a nationally-recognized instructor and designer will be teaching four classes at TYF – contact the store for more details.  Knit Happens is offering knit and crochet classes, they will also have a big sale the day after Thanksgiving.  Jessica Knits anniversary sale will be November 4 – 15.  Bonnies is offering 40% off Noro Silk Garden.  They also always have a sale basket with yarns marked 40 – 50% off.  Arizona Knit and Needlepoint is offering lots of classes.

Stitches West will be February 25 – 28 in Santa Clara, CA.

Hobby Lobby by PV mall is now open.

The Yarn Place & Gallery is struggling, and would love people to drop in.
